Simon Page-Ritchie

specialises in still-life photography – capturing the minute details of everyday life, injecting emotion into inanimate objects.

The project shown here focuses on found spaces within existing buildings. These images capture traces of human presence that has since departed. From a window in a disused office space to a curtain in a public building, we cannot help but imagine the people who inhabited that room before us. These photographs are a study on presence in absence.

Simon’s work draws us into the world of the overlooked and unnoticed, bringing us face to face with the world that we thought was familiar. Through this acute scrutiny, we learn to appreciate the beauty in the mundane and look at the world around us with renewed appreciation.

This series was shown in our previous exhibition, NUTS&BOLTS. If you are interested in purchasing prints from this series, please visit our sales section or get in touch with us at gallery@one-and-a-half.com.
